Cake first started baking in a tiny little kitchen below the
shop in Kolonaki on Irodotou street in March, 2004. It was a
new idea, serving a dozen delicious fresh baked goods, it was
like the kitchen Lucy, Maggie and Stephen grew up in. The
black and white tiles, the light green and cream colors on the
walls, the marble sink, the cookbooks on the shelves… it was
all a replica of what we found to be “home”.
"We baked our favorite cakes we loved as kids when travelling
overseas… banana bread, lemon poppy seed, cheesecake,
brownies, cupcakes and much much more.
We baked as we did at
home; from scratch!
We dice the apples for the apple pies, we
squeeze the oranges for the orange chocolate cakes, we shred
the carrots for the carrot cake… and not just that, to this
day and every day, we crack thousands of fresh eggs, we sift
hundreds of kilos of flour, we melt thick chocolate in
steamers and add drops of real vanilla essence...
Six years later, nothing has changed!
We are still baking the
same way only for more stores.
Our family has expanded, now
counting four locations in the greater vicinity of Athens, we are
creating a larger family, involving partners who see
eye-to-eye, who feel and believe in the mentality of CAKE.
Day in, day out we bake daily, deliver daily, serve daily and
that is how the cookie crumbles...
For the cake family, to
experience the amazing recognition from so many people, makes
our job the best job ever. Thank you to all who contribute and
